October 16, 2018: What is this lump?

It was a Tuesday. I had picked up my kids after work and come home for what I was expecting to be a nice night with my family. I went into our restroom to change out of my work clothes and saw it. Then felt it. I called out to my husband and asked him if he saw what I was seeing. Before he spoke, the look on his face told me saw what I was seeing. It was red. It was warm. It was hard and painful. Panic. Fear. Uncertainty, then reality. I changed my clothes and went on with my evening. Dinner, baths, books, bedtime. When I was finally able to relax, it was worse. The pain, the redness had become worse. I tried to sleep, but was uncomfortable and now anxious. Little would I know, this would be the beginning of a journey I never expected.
